Laura Dern gets Covid-19 test ahead of presenting award at the Oscars 2021

Laura Dern has revealed to followers that she's completed a Covid-19 test ahead of her appearance at the Oscars 2021.

The 54-year-old Marriage Story star, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film last year, will be presenting this year's Best Supporting Actor award at Union Station in Los Angeles.

This year, the nominees for Best Actor in a Supporting Role are Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Kaluuya, Leslie Odom Jr, Paul Raci, and Lakeith Stanfield.

Ahead of her appearance at the awards, Laura took to social media to confirm that she had completed her swab to test for Covid-19.

In the snap, the actress donned a black face mask and orange sunglasses as she held up her swab for the camera.

"Oscars prep!" she captioned the shot.

The Big Little Lies actress was inundated with messages from fans who expressed their excitement ahead of the much-anticipated awards ceremony.

"QUEEN OF THE OSCARS," penned one fan.

"OMG i’m so excited," added a second.

Unlike other award ceremonies that opted for virtual events, the 93rd Academy Awards is taking place this Sunday in Los Angeles and will be an in-person, live show.

It has been reported that all attendees at this year's ceremony have been asked to take at least three Covid-19 tests and everyone's temperatures will be taken upon attendance.

While guests will be expected to wear masks during commercial breaks, those appearing on camera will not be asked to wear one at that time.

After a two-month delay because of the Covid-19 crisis, a host of well-known faces will be descending upon the various locations including Union Station and the Dolby Theatre for one of the biggest awards nights of the year.
