Laura Anderson calls Love Island stars fame hungry and says show gives false hope of love

This year the Love Island stars have struggled to find love, with only Molly Mae and Tommy Fury being officially together.

And now ex Islander Laura Anderson has blamed the ITV2 show for giving contestants false hope at finding love.

The 30-year-old also said many Islanders go into the villa looking for fame, which she claims is proven by how few couples there are.

Laura told Closer magazine: "The chances of finding love on the show are extremely slim. There are so many people in the world — what are the odds that your soul mate is going to be in the villa?

"I guess the show attracts a similar type of person too, so there's not much variety.

"I think a lot of people go on for the wrong reasons as well — for fame, rather than love."

Laura first coupled up with Wes Nelson , before he dumped her for his now ex-girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson.

She then had a brief romance with Jack Fowler before dating Paul Knops, who she split from shortly after leaving the villa.

Despite not finding someone from the show, Laura said she learnt a lot from the experience and now knows what she wants.

She added: "Now I know that a good relationship is being with someone who makes you feel good, who makes you laugh, who's real and who supports you."

Laura hasn't been shy about criticising this year's contestants.

She branded Maura Higgins a "horror" and slammed her for her "outrageous" behaviour towards Tommy when he told her he was only interested in Molly-Mae.

Laura also called Yewande Biala a "moody brat" for her reaction to Danny Williams coupling up with Arabella Chi.
