Latest updates on the coronavirus outbreak in Canberra, Tuesday, March 31

The federal government has announced a wage subsidy, and increasingly tight restrictions on social gathering as the coronavirus crisis continues.

We'll be bringing you all the latest updates through the day here as news breaks and the situation develops. The blog is lower on the page, and sometimes takes a moment to appear.

The ACT recorded its first death, but had only one more confirmed case yesterday as the total reached 78.

Health authorities are still investigating how two further cases contracted the virus. If they cannot determine the cause, it will be the territory's first community transmission.
