Latest updates as Bradford Road in Stanningley closed after 12-year-old girl hit by car

A 12-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Leeds road.

West Yorkshire Police were called at 2.51pm today (Thursday) to Bradford Road, Stanningley, which remains closed after the incident.

The young girl, a pedestrian, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and is being treated for head injuries.

The incident is causing delays in the Dawsons Corner area at Cote Lane, with traffic on the A647 ring road.
