Latest Update Reportedly Prevents Undisputed From Launching

Undisputed, the long-anticipated boxing sim that’s been trying to establish itself as the modern successor to Fight Night, has run into a major problem — one that players aren’t exactly shrugging off. The game isn’t in early access anymore, so “give it time” isn’t really a valid excuse here.

Across Steam discussions, Reddit threads, and social media posts, players are reporting a severe post-update issue: the game simply will not launch. For a title trying to carve out a space in the sports-gaming landscape, this is about as rough as it gets.

For many users, Undisputed crashes immediately after hitting “Play.” Others say it stalls on the initial loading screen and never progresses. There are also widespread complaints that the update somehow broke Steam’s file-integrity checks, causing endless loops of file re-downloads without ever resolving the issue.

Some players claim that rolling back GPU drivers temporarily solves the problem, but that isn’t a universal fix. And based on the volume of reports, most people are still stuck — unable to start the game at all.

What Went Wrong?

What’s worse is that there is no official explanation from the developer, Steel City Interactive. It wasn’t even a big update, just a balancing and bug fixing patch, but somehow it seems to have broken the game completely.

Community managers have acknowledged that they’re “looking into the issue,” but players are still waiting on a real patch or at least a workaround. The silence isn’t helping either; the game’s community is understandably annoyed, especially since Undisputed hasn’t always had the smoothest update history.

Some fans are even calling for a rollback of the game to a stable version so they can actually enjoy and play the game. On the other hand, some argue that the team should have a more robust testing process to ensure that updates don’t break the game as they have now.

For now, if you’re affected, your options are pretty limited aside from verifying files, reinstalling, or waiting. Sure, Undisputed is still in early access, so hiccups are expected, but one that prevents you from playing the game at all? That’s the kind of problem that can push players away from the game. And, for a game that already has a very small community, it’s not good.

Obviously, a fix is expected soon, but until the devs push out a stable hotfix, a decent chunk of the community is stuck ringside instead of in the ring.
