Latest UK weather forecast from Met Office and BBC as weather warnings remain in place

Bristol has seen some extremely wet weather this week and sadly it look set to continue into the weekend.

Thursday (June 13)  is expected to be another wet day for Bristolians with Weather Channel forecasters predicting a 90 per cent chance of rain.

Temperatures will be feeling cool too, with highs of just 13C - well below the average for this time of year which is a balmy 19C.

According to BBC weather, low pressure is dominating our weather system which means we are in for lots of showers and unsettled weather.

The good news is, this band of low pressure is set to move slightly as we head into next week.

It will still be lingering close to us but this minor change could make quite a difference to the weather.

It's still set to be rather unsettled but temperatures are predicted to increase and it should be drier.

Back to this week and a number of UK weather warnings are in place for Thursday, June 13.

Met Office forecasters have issued a yellow warning for rain across parts of North Wales and the North West of England. The warning also stretches across to Derbyshire in the East Midlands.

Heavy rain is expected to persist in these areas from the early hours of the morning and there is a small chance of homes and businesses being flooded. Travel disruption and difficult driving conditions are also expected until noon.

An additional yellow warning is in place until 3pm in North East England, South West Scotland, the Lothian Borders and North Yorkshire.

Widespread rainfall of 30 to 50mm is predicted, with some areas on higher ground warned of up to 100mm.

An amber warning for rain is in place for parts of South West Scotland, Lothian Borders until 3pm which warns of fast flowing, deep floodwater causing a danger to life.
