A total of 132 new hospital deaths linked to coronavirus have been reported in the latest data - the smallest rise in England for more than four months.

Officials say there have been another 127 deaths in England, no new deaths in Scotland, three in Wales and two in Northern Ireland.

On Sunday, the death toll in the UK rose by 178, which was the lowest Sunday rise in more than two months, the Mirror Online reports.

The new deaths announced in England today mean the total number of confirmed deaths reported in English hospitals has risen to 83,250.

England has yet to release data today on how many new cases have been reported, but Scotland and Wales have.

Scotland has recorded 386 positive coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours.

A total of 202,470 people have now tested positive in Scotland, up from 202,084 the previous day.

There have also been a further 193 cases of coronavirus in Wales, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 203,818.

Public Health Wales reported another three deaths. That has taken the total in the country since the start of the pandemic to 5,343.
