Latest TUI updates with more summer destinations added - but some still grounded

The UK's biggest tour operator TUI has announced it latest flights and holidays update with several new destinations added to the company's summer programme.

TUI currently flies to green list destinations of Madeira, Malta, Porto Santo and Antigua, Barbados, Gibraltar, Grenada, Iceland and Jersey.

It is also operating to the amber status resorts Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca, Corfu, Crete (Heraklion), Cyprus (Larnaca and Paphos), Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Jamaica, Lanzarote, Kos, Alicante, Malaga, Marrakech in Morocco, Portugal, Rhodes, Skiathos, St Lucia, Tenerife and Zakynthos.

But it plans to resume flights to the Croatian resorts of Dubrovnik on August 1, Split on August 2 and Pula from August 3, while Chania on the Greek island of Crete will begin from July 27. Flights to La Palma in the Canary Islands will also commence from July 27.

However, holidays remain suspended Canada, Kenya, Seychelles and Tobago, Greece (Halkidiki, Kefalonia, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Thassos), mainland Spain (except Alicante and Malaga) and Agadir in Morocco until July 31.

Lakes and mountains holidays to Switzerland remain cancelled until August 1, to Bourgas in Bulgaria until August 8 and non-TUI flights Italian lakes and mountains trips until August 10.

Trips to Aruba, Florida, Mexico (Cancun) and Turkey on TUI flights are cancelled until August 15.

Non-TUI flight holidays to Austria, Slovenia, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand (Phuket), UAE and USA have also been halted until at least August 15.

Meanwhile, services to Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) and Tunisia are suspended until September 4 and Bulgaria (Varna), Girona, Malta, Montenegro and Italy (Sicily, Sardinia, Calabria) until October 31.

TUI stated: “We are continually reviewing our holiday programme and cancellations in line with government updates every three weeks. We won’t take any customers to red destinations or those which require quarantine on arrival, unless this can be foregone by a Covid test.

“If we need to cancel holidays because of updated government guidance, or after reviewing our holiday programme, we will contact customers and aim to give at least seven days advance notice.

“These customers can request a full cash refund, or to change to a later date or alternative holiday with a booking incentive.

“We know some customers may be unsure about travelling this summer, so to offer continued flexibility and reassurance, fee-free changes can be made up to 14 days before travel for customers due to depart up to and including October 31.”
