Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Zaha tipped for move, Llorente return, Kane to Man United

The transfer window is now officially open, and Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a big summer.

Having secured European football with their final day draw at Crystal Palace, Spurs will be looking to strengthen as they aim to improve on an up and down campaign.

Jose Mourinho will be aiming to put his stamp on the side, having already made a big impact following the departure of Jan Vertonghen.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from north London.

Zaha tipped for Spurs

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has suggested Wilfried Zaha could sign for Tottenham this summer.

The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, and looks set to finally be on his way this summer after Roy Hodgson confirmed the player is looking to leave.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with the Ivory Coast international, but Jordan told talkSPORT he could see Zaha making the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium instead.

“He is on £130,000 a week which in Palace’s terms, is very expensive,” Jordan said.

"He wants to go. I could see him going to Tottenham. He is in the price category that Daniel [Levy] might be willing to spend.”

Llorente set for return?

Fernando Llorente could be set to make a return to Spurs this summer as the club look for backups to Harry Kane in the transfer window.

The Spain international left Tottenham last summer after two years in north London, in which he made 66 appearances in all competitions and scored 13 goals.

He’s struggled to make an impact since making the move to Napoli, scoring just four goals in 24 appearances, but according to ESPN, he’s being looked at as an option again for Spurs.

The same report states that Leciester City’s Islam Slimani has been offered, while Victor Osimhen’s £75m price tag has proven too steep.

United told to go all out for Kane

Paul Merson has urged Manchester United to end their interest in Jadon Sancho, and instead turn all their attentions to Harry Kane this summer.

United have been heavily linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund star, who is being widely tipped to leave the Bundesliga this summer.

Merson, though, believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his plans all wrong, and should instead be going all out to land Kane.

“If they have the money, I’d go £120m for Harry Kane,” Merson told Sky Sports (via the Express). “If they get him and centre half, they’d be massive players in the Premier League next season.”
