Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Swap deal rejected amid Man Utd interest, Gareth Bale twist

Tottenham have already made their first move of the January transfer window by signing Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica but more deals could be in the pipeline.

Jose Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino last November and straight away the discussion surrounded whether the Portuguese manager would be afforded the same level of transfer allowance as he's enjoyed in previous roles at Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Whilst Spurs are looking for new talent, especially in light of injuries to Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko, it's more likely that loan deals will be achieved.

Fernandes' switch to the capital is a prime example of that but Spurs are looking for more recruits on a permanent basis too, something which is highlighted by the latest gossip round-up below.

Swap deal for Piatek

Tottenham are aiming to bring Krzysztof Piatek to the Premier League this month and now they are looking into swap deal options.

Reports suggest that Spurs are exploring the possibility of signing the 24-year-old, who is also gaining interest from Manchester United.

Kane is sidelined until April and now Mourinho's men are attempting to sign the Polish forward.

Furthermore, The Athletic, per The Express, state that chairman Daniel Levy has had a swap deal offer rejected for the striker.

Juan Foyth and Victor Wanyama are said to have been the players who Spurs were willing to part with.

Bale deal latest

Gareth Bale has been unsettled for a considerable amount of time at Real Madrid and now his old club are back in for his services.

Bale left Tottenham for Real in 2013 and he has won four Champions League medals among other honours whilst in Madrid.

The Wales international almost moved to the Chinese Super League last summer and has since played 14 times this season.

Now it has been reported by Spanish football expert Juanfe Sanz, who was speaking to El Chiringuito TV, that Tottenham are in talks with Real president Florentino Perez over coming to terms on a deal this month.

Rose to Newcastle links

Newcastle United are considering making a play for Tottenham defender Danny Rose.

The 29-year-old has only started one Premier League match during the tenure of Jose Mourinho to date and wasn't in the squad to face Watford last time out.

Jan Vertonghen has moved to left-back and Ben Davies is returning from injury soon, leaving Rose's chance of game-time limited moving forward.

Now The Telegraph are reporting that Steve Bruce's Magpies are potentially planning a move for the left-back.

Spurs are believed to be ready to part ways with Rose should the right offer come in.
