Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Star told to make Newcastle move, Eduardo Camavinga boost

Tottenham Hotspur took up residence at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday evening with an impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Goals either side of the half time interval from Son Heung-min and Giovani Lo Celso got the job done for Jose Mourinho's side.

The victory, which marked a fourth successive Premier League triumph, once again highlighted Spurs' capability of competing for the title this season.

Though Spurs currently find themselves in a great position, there is still an awfully long way to go, meaning the outlook could look very different come the New Year. But should they find themselves in the mix for their first-ever Premier League crown by the time the January window opens, Daniel Levy may hand Mourinho a small fortune to spend in an effort to bolster the squad even further.

Harry Kane can change what a striker is

With that in mind, here is a round-up of all the very latest Spurs transfer gossip.

Camavinga opens up on transfer links

Highly-rated Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga has set his sights on sealing a move to one of European football's biggest clubs, amid speculation about his future.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who is making great strides in Ligue 1, has been closely linked with a move to either Manchester United or Spurs in recent weeks.

Now, the youngster has admitted that the prospect of joining one of the big clubs makes him "dream."

“The great clubs make me dream, but I cannot name one in particular for my future. We’ll see [about a new deal at Rennes]," said Camavinga, as quoted by TEAMtalk.

“We haven’t set a date to discuss my future, I’m in no rush about it. There will be negotiations to keep me here. It would be a pleasure for me to continue at Rennes.

"I still have two years left on my contract and we have enough time to talk about it.”

Mourinho keen on Giroud move

Spurs chief Mourinho has significant interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud ahead of the January transfer window opening for business, according to a report by The Boy Hotspur.

Giroud, who has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge this season after the summer arrival of Timo Werner, is being heavily linked with a move away from the west London club ahead of January, with the striker having been warned that he may have to leave the Blues to secure a spot in France's squad for next summer's European Championships.

Mourinho has not worked with Giroud in the past but is keen to lure him across London, in an effort to bolster his attacking options.

Winks urged to make Newcastle switch

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks is being urged to join Newcastle United on loan by former Spurs striker Darren Bent.

Winks, who will have ambitions of being part of Gareth Southgate's England squad for next summer's Euros, has struggled for regular game time in north London this season, with Mourinho having awarded him just four Premier League appearances so far.

With that in mind, Bent believes a temporary exit in January could be in his best interests, with Newcastle being touted as a potential candidate.

Bent told Football Insider: “To be fair to (Jose) Mourinho, I do think he is quite honest and he’s quite fair – I mean, Danny Rose would probably beg to differ.

“I think for Harry Winks, I think there will be will be takers for him, even at Newcastle. He could go to Newcastle and play so there will be options for him in January.

“It’s important he doesn’t waste half a season in and out the team, not playing well while people like Kalvin Phillips, every week, if he’s fit, he plays. Declan Rice, if he’s fit, he plays.

“It’s one of them, you can’t afford it, in these years leading up to a major tournament, you can’t afford to waste time.”
