Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs win Sanson transfer race, Harry Kane tipped to leave

The Premier League’s return is just around the corner – and so is the summer transfer window.

Football is set to restart on June 17, which would see it clash with the opening of the window on June 10.

That means we could see plenty of comings and goings from Tottenham Hotspur as they chase a place in Europe during the conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign.

Here the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sanson chooses Spurs

Tottenham look to have beaten Arsenal and West Ham to the signature of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.

The French midfielder has caught the eye as one of Ligue 1’s most consistent performers, and is thought to be eyeing up a new challenge.

Spurs have been one of the clubs linked with a move for the 25-year-old, along with their North London rivals, as well as the Hammers and Crystal Palace.

But, according to L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), Sanson would prefer a move to Tottenham, with the same publication reporting last month Spurs had been offered the chance to sign him.

Redknapp’s Kane admission

Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane may choose to leave the club as he continues to be linked with Manchester United.

Kane has previously hinted he could look to leave North London if Tottenham didn’t match his own ambitions.

United have been the side most heavily linked with the England captain, and Redknapp told talkSPORT (via Metro) he could see the striker making the move to Old Trafford.

“It’s a difficult one, I’m sure [Kane] loves the club, he’s come through the youth system and it’s his team, but he’s also ambitious and I would think if it doesn’t happen this year he could possibly look to move on,” Redknapp said.

Pochettino’s next move

Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear the next club he manages must be able to contend for trophies.

The former Spurs boss has been heavily linked with the Newcastle manager’s hot seat, as the Magpies’ takeover rumbles on.

And the Argentine, who took Tottenham to the Champions League final last year but failed to win a trophy during his five years at the club, is determined to move to the next level.

“That moment will arrive when we have to win a trophy,” he told Spanish football programme La Liga TV (via the Express).
