Jose Mourinho has turned around Tottenham's fortunes on the field as they battle for the Premier League top four but can he add some talent in the January transfer window?
The Portuguese manager is used to spending big in transfer windows but that will not be the case this month at Spurs under chairman Daniel Levy.
But this fact has not stopped the rumours as Tottenham focus mostly on acquiring players on loan.
Harry Kane's injury may change that somewhat and here are the latest rumours in the gossip round-up below.
Cavani plea sent
We start with the news around Kane and he will be out of action until April due to a hamstring injury sustained in the loss at Southampton on New Year's Day.
This news has led to rumours aplenty and reaction too. Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has been one of the pundits to add his thoughts to the mix and he is suggesting that the club try and sign out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.
"I knew it (Kane’s injury) was going to be a big one. The moment you tear your hamstring, it’s four to six months or even more. It takes time to heal," Bent told talkSPORT. "So Spurs now need to sign a centre-forward in this transfer window.
"Not one to play back-up to Harry Kane when he comes back, they need one to come in NOW who is ready to go. We’ve spoken about Cavani – there’s your guy! Go and get him! He’s getting on in age but can still do a job. They need a no.1 centre-forward now, they need to sign someone who can score goals right now."
Spurs explore Dembele transfer
Tottenham have begun exploring the chance of signing Moussa Dembele from Lyon.
After Kane's aforementioned injury and surgery on his hamstring, Mourinho is looking to bring in reinforcements.
Goal claim that Spurs are now keen on signing Dembele, who is also one of Chelsea's top transfer targets this month.
The 23-year-old is said to be worth much more than £34 million, the figure which Lyon have reportedly rejected from the Blues already.
Spurs are also said to be in talks with AC Milan for Krzysztof Piatek, according to reports.
Three-way battle for Fernandes
But it's not just strikers that Tottenham may look at this month as Gedson Fernandes appears on the club's radar, according to the Guardian.
Three Premier League sides are reportedly in the race to sign the Benfica midfielder, with West Ham United hoping to complete a loan deal for the 21-year-old.

The Hammers are said to have offered Benfica an 18-month loan deal for the midfielder.
But the latest development has seen Fernandes offered to Tottenham. This is on the back of the injury to Moussa Sissoko, who is out until April after knee surgery.
It has now been reported that West Ham are fretting about the possibility of losing Fernandes to Spurs.
