Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs lining up £50m deal for ex-Man Utd star, Bale latest

With under two months of the season remaining, all eyes are on the summer.

Will this be the transfer window where Spurs finally make some signings? There will no doubt be some opportunity to spend but will Daniel Levy provide Mauricio Pochettino with the backing that he deserves at the end of the season?

There have been a number of rumours around potential incomings in recent months, and of course there are always whispers of a departure too.

To help you try and keep up with all the latest players linked with a move to the Lilywhites this summer, and those who could leave, these are today's biggest Spurs transfer stories and rumours.

Gareth Bale

Speculation has long reigned over Gareth Bale's future at Real Madrd and Zinedine Zidane has claimed that a decision will be made over the Welshman's situation in the summer.

The 29-year-old has been at the Bernabeu since 2013 but has never truly won over fans in Madrid despite crucial goals in a number of finals.

As such rumours of a return to the Premier League have rarely been far away and they were exacerbated by Zidane's return to the Los Blancos hotseat.

Reports emerged during the Frenchman's tenure of a strained relationship with Bale.

The 46-year-old boss has sympathy for Bale's situation but said his focus had to remain on the current season for now.

Pep Guardiola reveals what he said when Liverpool scored their last-gasp winner against Spurs

Zidane told reporters : "I know whistles are never good, I’ve been whistled at, you have to accept it. You have to have the character for it.

"About Gareth’s future, we’ll talk about that at the end of the season. We have to finish the season then we’ll see."

Douglas Costa

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Tottenham are among a handful of clubs who are interested in signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa.

The Brazilian is expected to leave the club this summer, with Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs all keen.

The Brazilian has played only 24 matches in all competitions for Juve this season having made his loan deal permanent in the summer.

Costa has made 17 Serie A appearances this term but has struggled to get into Massimiliano Allegri's first team fuelling speculation that he doesn't have a long-term future in Turin.

The 28-year-old only made his switch from Bayern Munich permanent last summer, costing them €40m after a successful loan spell.

Michael Keane

Tottenham are weighing up a £50million summer move for Everton and England defender Michael Keane, according to the Express.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is in the market for a young centre-back this summer and has identified Keane as his first-choice target.

Scouts from Tottenham were at Everton's 2-0 win at West Ham on Saturday to watch Keane, while north London rivals Arsenal are also understood to have had representatives there looking at the ball-playing centre-back.

With Tottenham facing the prospect of losing Toby Alderweireld - who has a year left on his current deal - this summer and Jan Vertonghen turning 32 later this month, Pochettino needs to bolster his central defensive options.

Keane, who has played all but three of Everton's 32 Premier League games this season, joined from Burnley for £25million in 2017 and has seen his stock rise in his two years at Goodison Park.

The 26-year-old, who began his career at Manchester United , has become a regular in the England squad and scored his first international goal in last week's 5-0 Euro 2020 qualifier rout of Montenegro.
