Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs boost as Real Madrid make decision, star 'distressed'

There are now less than two weeks left in the transfer window - and Tottenham are expected to still be busy before deadline day.

Spurs have already signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United and Tanguy Ndombele in a club record move from Lyon, but the Lilywhites continue to be linked with a number of other players as well.

As such, there could still be several incomings and outgoings over the next two weeks. Below, we take a look at the latest transfer rumours.

Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale’s deal to join Jiangsu Suning has fallen through after it was reported that he was close to switching to the Chinese side for a contract which would have been worth £1m per week.

The Wales star is now back at Real Madrid and is increasingly likely to remain in Spain beyond the summer transfer window deadline.

However, it has been reported that the 30-year-old’s ‘dream’ move would be to join Manchester United this summer.

Marca  are reporting that Bale is still hopeful of eventually ending up at Old Trafford.

According to the  Daily Mail , Bale will not take part in Real’s pre-season friendly against Spurs because he is too “distressed” to travel to Munich after flights to and from China.

James Rodriguez/Christian Eriksen

James Rodriguez looks set to stay at Real Madrid this season.

The midfielder has been the subject of speculation after spending two years on loan at Bayern Munich. But after the German giants opted against a permanent deal for the Colombia international, he has returned to training with Real Madrid.

The likes of Arsenal and Napoli have been linked to the 28-year-old, but following Marco Asensio’s potentially season-ending injury suffered recently, Rodriguez looks set to stay at the Bernabeu.

Which could be welcome news for Spurs, with Real tracking Christian Eriksen this summer. With Gareth Bale’s move to China called off in recent days, Real could be a little short on funds to secure the Danish playmaker, with Spurs believed to want £70m for the midfielder.
