Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Sergio Reguilon setback, Juan Foyth eyed, £4m Barcelona move

The start of Tottenham Hotspur's new season is just one week and one day away with the countdown well and truly on.

Fans may well be excited for the new campaign, but with only Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart in so far, Jose Mourinho will be desperate for time to slow down as he works with Daniel Levy to strengthen his squad.

Spurs do have until early October to get their business done, but they will be hoping to wrap up a new signing or two before the big kick-off.

And with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest Tottenham transfer rumours.

Reguilon setback

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Real Madrid full-back Sergio Reguilon.

That is according to Spanish journalist, Senen Escalante, who is reporting Los Blancos will demand around €20-25 million (£18-22m) for the player.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Reguilon in the past, but appears their Premier League have stolen a march in the race.

Foyth eyed by Villarreal

Villarreal are interested in signing Juan Foyth from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

That is according to Spanish publication AS, who claim Unai Emery has made Foyth his top target in defence this summer.

Leeds United have been heavily linked with a Foyth this summer, with Marcelo Bielsa believed to be keen on adding to his defence options.

Spurs could return for Barca star

Tottenham could return to Barcelona with a fresh bid for young prospect Lucas de Vega.

According to Sport, Spurs offered just £2million only to be sent packing with Barca keen to keep the centre-midfielder around.

But the Catalan club could let him go for double that, and Spurs could well make the move a successful one by offering up the £4million.

That could be enough despite the 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder being seen as a 'key part' of Barcelona's youth setup.
