Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Real Madrid star 'close' to joining after Poch conversation

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with big money moves for a number of players already this summer.

And on Tuesday, two players made their way through the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium front doors as the club completed deals for Jack Clarke and club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Here we run through the latest rumours surrounding the other players who could be joining - or leaving - Spurs this summer.

Toby Alderweireld

Arsenal are reportedly planning a shock move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld this summer transfer window, as his release clause is just £25m this summer.

According to football operations and communications consultant Ian McGarry, the Gunners are looking at possibilities of making the deal happen.

He told the Reach plc Transfer Window podcast: "The problem [Arsenal] are going to have with this is they are offering not to pay up front, but over the course of one year, the €28m [£25m] clause.

"Alderweireld is very tempted to look at a career where he doesn’t need to uproot his family, his life, because obviously these training grounds are quite close to each other.

"Therefore moving to the Emirates would in one way be quite an ‘easy’ thing to do.

"It would not be easy in what Spurs fans would think about that, but I think it’s something that makes sense for Arsenal given their transfer budget is less than €50m [£45m] all-in."

Giovani Lo Celso

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to sign Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso ‘at all costs’, with the midfielder also keen to work with the Spurs boss.

The Argentina international is rated at €75m by his club after they took advantage of an option-to-buy clause in his loan deal from PSG for €23m this season.

And according to  Diario de Sevilla via Sport Witness , contacts between the two clubs are ongoing, with Manchester United also linked. Spurs are not willing to match Betis’ valuation, but Pochettino is said to want the signing “at all costs”.

The player has seemingly dropped a huge hint on his future by reportedly telling his club that his preference is to work under his fellow Argentine, and the midfielder has already spoken informally with Pochettino.

Dani Ceballos

According to  AS , Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is set to join  Tottenham  on loan.

The Spaniard reportedly spoke to Mauricio Pochettino on the phone and has been persuaded to pick Spurs over AC Milan, who were also interested.

Ceballos played a key role in Spain under-21's European Championship win this month.
