Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bid made, Spurs urged to sign trio

The Premier League is back, and Tottenham Hotspur remain in the hunt for a Champions League place despite a late setback on Friday night.

Spurs got back down to business against Manchester United on their return, and were denied what would have been a vital three points by Bruno Fernandes’ late penalty in the 1-1 draw.

That point could prove pivotal not only to their European hopes, but their plans in the transfer window this summer.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Son influence

Tottenham Hotspur are now favourites to win the race for Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-Jae this summer.

According to The Sunday Mirror, Spurs are now leading the race for Kim, ahead of a number of other Premier League clubs.

The report states that Heung- Min Son’s influence is ‘likely to prove pivotal’ as Tottenham attempt to win the race for his signature, with the two players being international teammates with South Korea.

Beijing Guoan are allegedly happy to sell for around £13.5million.

Souness names Spurs targets

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has named three players Tottenham should consider signing.

The former Liverpool boss has done some homework on Jose Mourinho's behalf, suggesting some potential arrivals, all of which are defenders.

Mourinho, Solskjaer and the rest of Liverpool’s challengers will all be looking to improve at the back next season until they find a settled back five like Jurgen Klopp has at Anfield,” Souness wrote in The Times.

“In terms of potential solutions, I like Caglar Soyuncu at Leicester City very much… (he) is strong, quick and good on the ball but crucially also takes defending seriously. It’s not all about passing it out from the back and how he looks on the ball for him.

"He’s the standout signing for me this summer, the centre half they will all be after.

“I also like Leicester’s right-back, Ricardo Pereira, he’s got the right qualities for the modern game and Angelino, the left-back who’s on loan from Manchester City at RB Leipzig, has impressed me.

"The only thing Pep Guardiola can’t be completely convinced by is his defending because going forward he’s as good as anyone out there."

Hojbjerg offer

Tottenham have already made an offer for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Southampton captain is set to leave the club this summer in the hope of a move to a club playing European football.

According to journalist Duncan Castles, Spurs have already lodged a bid for the midfielder.

"They [Southampton], I'm told, have three offers so far for the player, none of them are satisfactory, one extremely low at a financial level, and they have an offer of cash plus players in exchange, which I understand has come from Tottenham Hotspur," he told The Transfer Window Podcast.
