Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Mourinho's £120m spree, Vedat Muriqi competition

Tottenham's campaign so far has been a rollercoaster ride and the challenge is now to find stability towards the back end of the campaign, to secure another season of Champions League football.

Jose Mourinho was active in the January transfer window to put his imprint on the side, sanctioning departures for Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen as well as bringing in Gedson Fernandes and Steven Bergwijn.

The Portuguese boss is expected to build upon that business at the end of the season when the summer window opens, where there is likely to be more chopping and changing in the squad.

As such, plenty of rumours continue to circulate and we have gathered some of the latest snippets for you below.

Jose Mourinho on Spurs' progress under him

Mourinho's £120m spree

Jose Mourinho is looking to rebuild his defensive line this summer with additions that could cost as much as £120m, according to the Daily Express.

Mourinho is said to have identified his compatriot Ruben Dias, currently at Benfica, as a prime target for his defensive rebuild, alongside Bournemouth's Nathan Ake.

Norwich City full-back Max Aarons is also being targeted in a move worth around £15m, with other candidates including Nice's Yousef Atal and Leicester's Ben Chilwell.

However, the push for Dias' signature in particular could prove to be difficult as he penned a new contract last year that raised his release clause to a mammoth £80m.

Vedat Muriqi competition

Lazio and Fiorentina are preparing to rival Tottenham in the market for Fenerbache striker Vedat Muriqi when the window reopens at the end of the season, CalcioMercato reports.

Muriqi has caught the eye with his performances in Turkey this season after scoring 12 goals in 20 Super Lig appearances, which has led to a rise in transfer interest.

Tottenham were reportedly pursuing the Kosovo international during the January transfer window in their quest to sign a new striker to fill the void from Harry Kane's injury.

However, they will now face increased competition in the market at the end of the season with the two Serie A sides joining the hunt.

Ake ready for transfer

Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake is ready to leave the South Coast club amid the growing race for his services, according to Noel Whelan.

The Netherlands international has been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City following his displays in recent campaigns for Eddie Howe's side.

Now, former Leeds forward Whelan has pushed him to complete a move, telling Football Insider:  "I think now, come the end of the season, no matter where Bournemouth end up, whether they’re still in the Premier League or they get relegated, I think it’s probably time for him to take that step up to a big club.”
