Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Mourinho keen on Godin as Spurs rival Chelsea for striker

Plagued by injuries to key players, Tottenham bolstered their squad with Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes on-loan during the January transfer window.

Spurs also secured the permanent signing of Argentine international Giovani Lo Celso in the same period. However, with Jose Mourinho still dissatisfied with the options at his disposal, it is likely he will ask Daniel Levy to delve into the market once again this summer.

Mourinho and Levy will hope fresh recruits will be able to fix Spurs’ intermittent form which has cost them vital points at key moments this season.

Here are the latest Spurs transfer rumours:

Godín to replace out of contract defender at Spurs

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Jose Mourinho is keen to add an experienced centre-back to Spurs’ ranks.

With Jan Vertonghen yet to sign a new deal, Mourinho may look elsewhere to Diego Godín – a player he had designs on while managing Manchester United.

It is thought Mourinho is a long-time admirer of the Uruguayan defender and would be keen to do a deal with Internazionale.

Spurs join Chelsea in Luka Jovic race

Tottenham could go head-to-head with Premier League rivals in the race to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.

The Serbian international has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, having found his opportunities limited under Zinedine Zidane.

But reports in Spain suggest that while Real Madrid may be open to letting him leave, it would only be on loan.

The Daily Star recently claimed that the 22-year-old will be offered to Spurs and the Blues.

Spurs keen on cut-price López deal

Olympique Marseille midfielder Maxime López will reportedly be available for the princely figure of £10 million this summer.

According to various reports , Spurs are keen to pursue a deal for the 22-year-old Frenchman at such a price. López’s current deal expires in June 2021 but it is more likely he will leave Stade Velodrome this summer.

López has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe – including a handful in England – and at £10 million would prove a bargain addition.
