Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Man United to make Kane decision, £52m Diop deal a 'priority'

Tottenham’s season may be on hold as the world battles the coronavirus crisis, but that has not stopped reports claiming they are looking ahead and planning their summer transfer business.

It remains to be seen when the transfer window will open this summer, as leagues and associations battle to conclude their current campaigns.

But managers, and their recruitment staff, are believed to be keeping busy in isolation by planning deals well in advance, if the latest reports are to be believed.

Alasdair Gold on who Spurs could sell

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from the north London club.

United could pull out of Kane race

Manchester United could be set to pull out of the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England star Harry Kane.

The Sun claim that Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer valued his current number nine, Marcus Rashford, as a better player than Kane and could turn down the chance to launch what was expected to be a world-record transfer.

Kane is not opposed to leaving Spurs, if reports are to be believed, and the striker has done very little to play down talk of him making a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Newcastle enter Willian race

Newcastle United are ready to battle Tottenham for the signing of Chelsea star Willian this summer.

The 31-year-old is set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer when his contract expires after talks over an extension collapsed a few months ago.

And Willian, who is believed to have been the subject of strong interest from Spurs with his former boss Jose Mourinho keen on a reunion, has also emerged as a target for Newcastle.

A Newcastle source has told Football Insider the club are already in contact with leading agents as they look to recruit big names who can make an instant impact following their takeover, with Willian one of a number of names set to be targeted.

Diop transfer a 'priority'

West Ham defender Issa Diop is a transfer "priority" for Tottenham this summer.

Foot Mercato claim Jose Mourinho is keen on the French centre-back and his club have already made contact with his representatives about a potential move.

The Hammers are believed to be willing to sell the 23-year-old for £52million.
