Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Liverpool for Leeds midfielder and Marcelo Brozovic move

Tottenham Hotspur had a busy summer transfer window and even though that's now shut, attention is already turning to the next windows.

The January market is not far off and Jose Mourinho will be looking to add to his squad to boost his side's chances of success this season.

Here are some of the latest rumours on Monday morning.

Tottenham 3-3 West Ham: Jose Mourinho post-match press conference

Battle for England midfielder

Tottenham and Liverpool are interesting in signing England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The Leeds United player played a key role in getting the Whites promoted last season and has impressed with them already this season in the top flight.

Both Spurs and the Reds are said to be keeping a close eye on him ahead of a potential move next summer, according to The Metro.

Phillips is not expected to come cheap, however, with any move likely to be in the region of £50m for the 24 year old.

Inter midfielder on the radar

Jose Mourinho is keen on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

Italian outlet Calciomercato says Spurs are eyeing a move for the Croat either in January or next summer's transfer window.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is said to be willing to let the player move on.

Mourinho has been linked with Brozovic before and Monaco are also keeping tabs on the player.

Clarke on the way out?

Spurs teenager Jack Clarke could be sold in January if he fails to make the breakthrough under Jose Mourinho.

That's the verdict of former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan.

Clarke, a former Leeds loanee was linked with several Championship clubs over the summer but stayed put in north London.

Whelan told Football Insider:“They’re going to watch him, they’re going to see his attitude, they’re going to see how he performs in training, in Under-23s games - has he got the ability to step up to the Premier League?

“This is something they’ll be assessing because he’ll be on decent money at Tottenham.

"If he’s not, you can see him going out on loan in January and maybe for a permanent move.”
