Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Kane plea, Muriqi interest, Tsimikas chase boost

Moura message for Kane

Tottenham winger Lucas Moura has said he hopes to be playing alongside Harry Kane next season as speculation surrounding the striker’s potential exit continues to mount.

Kane, 26, has been linked with Manchester United, with the Red Devils reportedly keen to bring the England international to Old Trafford to ignite their quest for the Premier League title.

Kane recently warned that he is not prepared to stay at Spurs ‘for the sake of it’ during an Instagram Live Q&A with former Spurs midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Moura said he is ‘sure’ Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wants to keep Kane.

“It’s not me who has to decide, but of course I want to play with him next season,” said the Brazilian.

“I want to stay with him because he’s very important for us and it’s not easy to find a player like him.

“Everyone knows he’s a big player. He’s very important for us, he’s our striker and scores almost every game.

“I’m sure that Mourinho wants to keep him. He counts on him for the rest of the season as well as for the next one.”

Spurs monitoring Muriqi

With Kane’s future far from certain, Spurs are keeping a close eye on the striking options in the transfer market, with Turkish outlet Sabah (via Sport Witness) crediting the north Londoners with interest in Fenerbahce forward Vedat Muriqi.

Tottenham, who may have to fend off interest from Lazio, are reportedly willing to pay £20 million for the 25-year-old Kosovo international, who has scored 13 goals in 25 Super Lig appearances this season.

Muriqi, who is under contract at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium until 2023, has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Leicester City.

Tsimikas chase boost

At the other end of the pitch, Spurs have received a boost in their reported pursuit of Olympiakos defender Konstantinos Tsimikas.

According to Greek outlet Sportdog, Porto - believed to be frontrunners for the left-back - have pulled out of the running after balking at Olympiakos’ £22 million valuation.

The 23-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most promising full-backs in Europe, is renowned for his dead-eyed delivery from wide areas and would offer Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon stiff competition at either left-back or left wing-back.
