Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Harry Kane alarm, Man City tipped to sign Spurs ace, Eze move

Tottenham Hotspur have just six games remaining this season.

Spurs are fighting to qualify for Europe and still have half an eye on the Champions League, particularly if Manchester City fail in their bid to get a European ban overturned.

It could well mean that Spurs have to wait until the end of the season before finalising any transfer targets.

With that in mind, here is the latest Spurs transfer gossip.

Vertonghen tipped for City move

Jermaine Jenas says Manchester CIty should make a move for Jan Vertonghen.

The Belgian defender looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer when his contract expires.

He has been out of favour under Jose Mourinho and, at the age of 33, a move to Pep Guardiola's side would raise some eyebrows.

Yet, speaking on Five Live, Jenas feels he would be a good back-up option for City.

He said: "One of the big signings I think they should go and get – and it’s a no-brainer for me – is Jan Vertonghen.

"They need a centre-half and he’s free.

"What you’re forgetting is that he hasn’t played consecutively for a number of years. He’s at a football club where he’s not happy.

"You drop him into a Pep Guardiola side that dominate the ball in every single game. And by the way I’m talking about back-up here; I’m not talking about replacing Laporte."

'Alarm bells ringing' over Harry Kane

Former Spurs defender Stephen Kelly says Harry Kane's future at the club remains a ticking clock until they strengthen the squad.

Speaking on the Football Daily podcast, Kelly said he was concerned over recent comments from Kane over his future.

He said: "I think he’s come out of late and made a few remarks that are starting to set alarm bells ringing slightly.

"The team are set up; the stadium’s set up, it’s an amazing place, the way it is now it’s arguably one of the best structures to be in the world.

"They just don’t have the players on the pitch to provide a winning title challenge – look at Liverpool, look at Manchester City, look how far everybody has been away from Liverpool and I think for Kane, he needs to see that the club are investing in the players that can get him that title.

"If they don’t do that, it’s a ticking clock."

Spurs eye Eze

Give Me Sport claim that Spurs have expressed an interest in signing Eberechi Eze from QPR.

The attacking midfielder has shone in the Championship this season and looks set to move to the Premier League.

With Spurs looking to bolster their attack this summer, Eze could well fit the bill as a 22-year-old who would come at an affordable price.

Jose Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the Loftus Road star, who has been capped at England under-21 level.
