Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Fraser boost, Meunier talks, Hojbjerg hint

Tottenham's Premier League return is just days away.

Spurs welcome Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday night as they look to climb back towards the top four.

But as preparations continue for that game, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will know the importance of preparing for next season.

Tottenham continue to be linked with a number of players and with that in mind, we run you through the latest rumours surrounding the club below.

Meunier talks

Tottenham have reportedly held talks to sign Belgium international Thomas Meunier, who is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain this month.

The Daily Express report Spurs are working on a deal to provide competition for Serge Aurier, but the club are considering free transfers this summer due to the financial difficulties in football.

The Belgian defender has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, but now appears to be closer to joining Spurs.

Fraser boost

Tottenham have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Ryan Fraser.

The Scotland international has been linked with a move to North London as his contract runs out this summer, with both Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly interested.

The Cherries had hoped to secure Fraser for the remainder of the season, with the Premier League resuming its 2019/20 campaign this week and set to run until the end of July.

But the club have now confirmed Fraser has declined a contract extension, which will enable him to leave the club as a free agent before the end of the current campaign.

Hojbjerg hint

Southampton have stripped Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of the captaincy amid talk of a summer move to Tottenham.

The midfielder will no longer wear the captain's armband when the 2019/20 season resumes, following a decision by boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Hojbjerg has made no secret of his desire to play at the highest level and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in him ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
