Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Diego Godin move, Patrick Schick update, Habib Diallo approach

Tottenham Hotspur are back in Premier League action on Friday night as they look to salvage something from a largely underwhelming season.

However, Jose Mourinho will have his first summer transfer window in charge of his new club very soon and rumours are already circulating over potential additions and departures.

Mourinho effectively inherited Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and he will have a chance to make his mark in the summer.

With that being said, here are the best Tottenham transfer rumours from today.

Spurs eye experienced Inter defender

Tottenham are interested in signing Inter Milan defender Diego Godin, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

Spurs are keen on the experienced Uruguayan centre-back but his wages - which are thought to be €6m-per-year - could prove an issue.

Schira tweeted that Spurs are not the only club after the former Atletico Madrid defender, with French side Lyon also keen.

Jan Vertonghen is set to leave Mourinho’s side in the summer, with the Belgian out of contract in north London.

Spurs join Schick race

Tottenham are one of three Premier League sides interested in Roma striker Patrik Schick this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Schick has enjoyed an impressive loan spell at RB Leizpig this season, and he is being tracked by Spurs, as well as Newcastle United and Everton.

However, Roma will not sell the Czech striker for anything less than £23.3m, according to the Italian outlet.

Spurs have entered the race to sign Schick, but see him as a Harry Kane back-up option, rather than a guaranteed starter, according to the report.

Tottenham made Diallo approach

Tottenham have made an approach for Metz striker Habib Diallo, according to the forward’s representative Thierno Seydi, via Agence de Presse Senegelaise.

Diallo’s agent has claimed Spurs have been interested in the Senegal striker for a lengthy period and even made an offer in the January transfer window.

Spurs have been linked with multiple strikers to provide an alternative to Kane, with the England captain’s poor injury record.

Seydi admitted Diallo could leave Metz at the end of the season, with Leeds United, Leicester City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace also interested according to reports.
