Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Demarai Gray on a free, Everton want Spurs trio

The transfer window is not far away now with just over a month until the January market opens for business.

Tottenham Hotspur have made a superb start to the season but boss Jose Mourinho will be keen to ensure his side can keep up the pace.

In light of this, here are the latest Spurs rumours doing the rounds.

Leicester City winger linked

Leicester City midfielder Demarai Gray is being linked with a free transfer to north London.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Foxes in 2016 from Birmingham City, has gone off the radar this season and has made just one appearance for Brendan Rodgers' side.

The winger is out of contract next summer and he is eyeing a move away from the club, according to the Express.

Transfer expert Duncan Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast: "I’m told that at Leciester they believe that he will be moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

"My understanding is that there is an interest from Tottenham, but that is not a guaranteed deal, he has interest from other Premier League clubs, there is also significant interest from overseas.

"A decision will be made as to where the best opportunity to develop his career is going forward once he’s in a position to properly talk to the clubs."

French striker wanted

Mainz forward Jean-Philippe Mateta is again being linked with Tottenham.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from Spurs in the past and CalcioMercato are reporting a new bid could be in the pipeline in the January transfer window.

Mateta, who joined Mainz from Lyon two years ago, has 24 goals in 61 league games for the German club.

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino had been keen on luring him over to England.

Everton eye Alli, Gazzaniga and Winks

Everton are said to be plotting an audacious swoop for Tottenham trio Dele Alli, Paulo Gazzaniga and Harry Winks.

A report by FootballInsider says the Toffees are eyeing up moves for the out of favour trio.

Any moves, however, could be difficult during the season and are more likely to happen next summer at the end of the season.

All three have found regular game time difficult under Jose Mourinho and would no doubt jump at the chance of playing week in, week out under Carlo Ancelotti on Merseyside.
