Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Carlos Vinicius deal agreed, Josh King backed to join

Here are the latest Spurs rumours doing the rounds on Thursday, October 1.

Carlos Vinicius deal agreed

Italian transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham have agreed a deal with Benfica for 25-year-old striker Carlos Vinicius.

As revealed by football.london yesterday, the north London outfit are finally closing in on the forward more than 14 months after Fernando Llorente left the club on a free transfer.

That the deal will most likely be a loan switch with an option to buy the player next summer for £36.3m.

Interestingly, Spurs initially wanted to sign Carlos Vinicius earlier in the window but the price was too high.

With that said, the Portuguese side's exit from the Champions League has helped matters slightly and the Lilywhites have between now and Monday to seal a deal.

That would take Spurs' total number of summer transfer recruits up to six after Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart already completed their moves to the club.

Tottenham and Inter 'showdown talks'

Tottenham and Inter Milan are set to meet on Saturday for talks over the future of defender Milan Skriniar, the Express has claimed.

The 25-year-old centre-back is heavily linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer with Jose Mourinho said to be desperate to attract defensive reinforcements.

Reports last week claimed that an initial offer had been rejected by Inter but now it is being claimed that a second offer could get the deal over the lined.

"It is not easy because Tottenham and Inter are negotiating," Romano said on YouTube.

"Inter are ready to keep Skriniar because Tottenham were only offering €30-35m.

"What Inter said were 'We are not going to sell the player for €30-35m. We want €60m but now they are going to consider €50m with some add-ons to make it €60m.

"I am told that over the weekend, possibly on Saturday, Tottenham and Inter will talk again about Skriniar.

"If Tottenham doesn't make an improved offer around €50m then it is difficult for Tottenham to get Skriniar."

Josh King tipped to join Tottenham

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has urged Tottenham to sign Bournemouth forward Josh King, claiming that the deal would make them one the Premier League's best sides.

Jordan has been impressed with Daniel Levy's transfer business so far and has hailed the club's moves for Gareth Bale and Matt Doherty.

But he says they are still one signing away from being a top, top side - and that King could well be the player to get them there.

“Tottenham are a good side," said Jordan, speaking to talkSPORT. "They’ve got good players [and they are] sneaking under the radar.

"If you add Gareth Bale into the mix, whatever he is, and maybe if they sign Josh King then they start to get into the territory of having quite a substantial team," he added.
