Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Boost in Hojbjerg pursuit, fresh twist in Fraser race

The Premier League continues to plan for a potential return to continue the 2019/20 season and that means we could yet see Tottenham Hotspur back in action next month.

It's been over two months since Spurs were last in action and there's plenty of interest around how Jose Mourinho's side will finish the season.

But that has not stopped reports claiming they are looking ahead and planning their summer transfer business.

Alasdair Gold's Facebook Live Tottenham Q&A

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from North London.

Tottenham handed a boost in pursuit of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted in the chase for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with reports suggesting Southampton may be forced to sell the Dane this summer.

Hojbjerg, 24, joined Saints from Bayern Munich in 2016 and has grown to be an important player for the club. He has been linked with several Premier League sides of late, and The Daily Star claims that Saints are facing financial trouble as Chinese owner Gao Jisheng attempts to sell his majority stake in the club.

In the event, he cannot do that he will look to raise £100 million through player sales amid ‘spiralling debts’.

This comes after Sky Sports reported that the North London club were preparing a £35 million offer for the 24-year-old.

Leeds interested in Tottenham star

Leeds United are chasing Tottenham’s Juan Foyth.

Foyth, 22, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs according to the Express and is now being tipped to link up with compatriot Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds. Foyth moved to North London in 2017, and according to Kevin Phillips, a move to Elland Road would be a ‘no brainer’.

“I could definitely see that one happening,” he told Football Insider. “It is almost a no-brainer. If they could get that over the line, it would be a good deal because it would not cost a fortune.

“I like Foyth. He has shown that he can play in the Premier League; it doesn’t faze him. If Ben White moves on, then you are at least replacing him with Premier League experience. He is a good player, but there are question marks over whether he is the same calibre as Ben White.

“A run of games would certainly benefit him. It has been a while since he has played regularly, but I like the qualities he possesses.”

Spurs behind Arsenal in chase for winger

Arsenal are confident of beating North London rivals Tottenham to the signing of Ryan Fraser.

Fraser, 26, is close to the end of his Bournemouth contract and is expected to leave the club during the next transfer window. The Scottish international has been linked to several Premier League clubs on a free transfer interest including Spurs, but as reports from the Daily Mail suggest, the Gunners are confident of winning the race for Fraser.

The winger enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2018/2019 when he recorded 14 assists in 38 games. He has struggled to recapture that form this season, with just one goal and four assists in 28 games.
