Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Aurier linked with Monaco move, Spurs eye Lille goalkeeper

Jose Mourinho will no doubt be looking to get straight down to work in the transfer window this summer.

The Tottenham Hotspur boss will be aiming to put his own stamp on the side as he gets the chance to build and bolster his squad at the end of the season.

By that time, he’ll know whether Spurs will be playing in Europe next season or not, which could have a big say in his ability to land his top targets.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Aurier linked with Monaco

Serge Aurier is being linked with a move to Monaco this summer as speculation continues over his future in north London.

Aurier is reported to have almost left Spurs last summer, although he has featured more prominently under Jose Mourinho.

His mixed performances though have led to suggestions Tottenahm could look to offload him, with Sky Sports reporting Monaco are in the running.

Jose Mourinho hoping Spurs can sort Dier contract

The Ligue 1 club’s recruitment is now overseen by Paul Mitchell, who previously worked for Spurs, and is keen to bring the Ivory Coast international to the club.

Lille goalkeeper could be option

Spurs are eyeing up Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan as back-up, and a potential replacement, for Hugo Lloris.

The goalkeeper has been in good form since taking over from Vincent Enyeama at the Ligue 1 club, and is being watched closely by Mourinho and his staff.

They currently have no plans on dropping Lloris from his number one position, but are looking to secure some competition, and a potential back-up should the World Cup winner move back to France.

According to Le10 Sport (via Sport Witness), Spurs are joined in their interest in Maignan by Chelsea, who aren’t happy with Kepa Arrizabalaga, but haven’t submitted an offer yet.

Spurs close in on Hojbjerg

Spurs are closing in on a deal for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Mourinho looks set to land one of his top targets.

Hojbjerg has been one of the Portuguese’s priorities since January, with rumours that Spurs failed in a deadline day bid to bring him to north London.

Despite that, Tottenham haven’t given up on their approach, and it appears the midfielder may be close to sealing his move.

Foot Mercato (via Give Me Sport) claim a deal is close to being finalised, with the 24-year-old costing around £25m – a fee that Spurs are willing to part with.
