Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: £45.5m Zaniolo deal, Perisic competition, Mourinho prediction

Tottenham Hotspur can soon start officially planning for next season.

Spurs have just one game left this season, against Crystal Palace on Sunday, before a shortened summer break begins.

The quick turnaround to next season will no doubt increase the pressure on clubs to get their transfer business done quickly.

Homegrown Harry Kane is the ‘special one’ for Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham

With that in mind, here are the very latest Spurs transfer rumours.

Perisic competition

Everton have joined Tottenham in the race to sign Bayern Munich loanee Ivan Perisic this summer.

Fussball Transfers are reporting that Inter Milan are willing to sell the Croatian for a bargain £13 million in the upcoming transfer window.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be a big fan of Perisic, who he tried to sign during his time as Manchester United manager.

Zaniolo eyed

Tottenham are also weighing up a move for Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

Jose Mourinho is thought to be a fan of the 21-year-old, who has scored six Serie A goals this season despite problems with injury.

The report states Tottenham will attempt to sign the youngster for around €50m (£45.5m) this summer.

However, Roma are thought to value Zaniolo around the €60-70m mark (£54.6m-£63.7m) which could complicate negotiations.

Mourinho makes summer prediction

Jose Mourinho has stated that Tottenham will have a "better, more balanced squad" before the summer transfer window closes for business.

He said: "A new player Monday? (laughs) That would be amazing news but I think it's just the opening of the window.

"I think we're going in the right direction. Very calm, organised, measured, thinking of everything.

"We know what we can do, which directions we can go in, which directions we cannot. We are very balanced, we're together.

"No doubts about what we need, what it is possible for us to get. Step by step we'll end with a better, more balance squad, keeping the great players we have is a very important thing."
