Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: £17.6m striker blow as Aurier replacement speaks out

Jose Mourinho will be hoping to build on the positives of his first season at Tottenham Hotspur and put aside the negatives once football resumes later this year.

He is set to put a rush on the summer transfer market near the top of his agenda with a number of departments in his squad in need of some attention.

Daniel Levy will be under pressure from fans to sanction some big business to ensure Spurs do not slip down the pecking order of the Premier League after a campaign that has seen their status as a Champions League side come under serious threat.

It will be on Mourinho to ensure that if they do miss out on qualifying for the competition that their absence is short-lived and the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has never been afraid of making serious demands over the transfer business he wants to see done.

Here are the latest Tottenham rumours over the signings and sales at Hotspur Way.

Spurs join Premier League battle for Vedat Muriqi

Tottenham are the latest Premier League club to be linked with Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi, according to reports in Turkey.

The Kosovan front man has impressed for the Super Lig side this season, following a summer move from Caykur Rizespor, with 15 goals in all competitions.

Sport Witness claim Spurs are ready to steal a march on rivals Manchester United and Leicester City, with a €20million bid (around £17.6million at the current exchange rate) for the 25-year old.

But despite this apparent willingness to make an offer, Jose Mourinho’s side could be beaten to his signature by a Serie A club.

Muriqi’s agent Kaluk Canatar has encouraged speculative interest from Napoli and Lazio, by stating it is his client’s ‘priority’ to play in Italy.

Tottenham back in the hunt for PSG’s Thomas Meunier

Spurs have received a timely boost in their reported pursuit of PSG full back Thomas Meunier, after the Belgian international dismissed reports he has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.

The 28-year old is out of contract at the Parc de Princes in June, and he has been heavily linked with a free transfer to Lucien Favre’s side.

However, he told an interview with a Belgian radio station that he did not understand the ‘crazy’ rumours of him already agreeing a move to Dortmund, or elsewhere.

The lack of deal means the door remains open for Spurs, and according to reports from The Boot Room , Jose Mourinho is determined to find a replacement for Serge Aurier at right back this summer.

Lukaku wants Vertonghen reunion at the San Siro

Jan Vertonghen looks certain to leave North London when his deal expires at the end of the campaign, with the Belgian reportedly receiving offers from across Europe.

The 32-year old would be an experienced figure for interested parties, with Barcelona and Inter Milan rumoured to be keen on a move to improve their defensive options.

And reports from Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim Inter forward Romelu Lukaku has encouraged Antonio Conte has encouraged the club to bring in his international teammate.

The role of Lukaku could tip the balance in favour of I Nerazzurri, who could be on the hunt for a new centre back if Milan Skriniar moves on.
