Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: £15m Hojbjerg deal, Walker-Peters exit, Vertonghen update

Tottenham have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer market ahead of their push to return to the Premier League's top-four next season.

Jose Mourinho has steadied the ship since succeeding Mauricio Pochettino in North London and, ahead of his first full season at the club, he will look to rejuvenate his side.

A wealth of names have already been linked with a move to join the club and a host of departures are also tipped to be taking place.

Hojbjerg deal close

Tottenham Hotspur are on the brink of signing Southampton ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for £15million.

Spurs have been keeping tabs on the central-midfielder for several months and are now reported to be inching closer and closer towards getting a deal over the line.

The Telegraph is reporting that the 24-year-old, who has one year left on his contract at St Mary’s, made it clear he wanted to move to a club playing European football.

Walker-Peters exit

Kyle Walker-Peters is heading to Southampton in an entirely separate deal, which will cost Saints £12million.

The Telegraph is reporting that both deals are being treated separately but talks between the clubs have involved getting both done, with completion expected in the next few days.

Walker-Peters spent a strong loan spell at Southampton in the second half of the season and impressed for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

Roma 'agree' Vertonghen deal

Roma have agreed a deal to sign free agent Jan Vertonghen - according to reports.

Corriere dello Sport the former Spurs man looks set to sign for the Serie A side which could put a potential deal for Chris Smalling in doubt.

Roma's financial problems have seen them struggle to meet United's demands for the defender, who has now returned to the Old Trafford club.
