Latest Tottenham transfer news: Ze Luis problem, Spurs cool Piatek interest, Walker-Peters exit

Tottenham Hotspur made their first move in the January transfer window as they completed the signing of Gedson Fernandes.

The 21-year-old becomes Jose Mourinho's first signing since arriving at the club, with Fernandes penning an 18-month loan deal with the option to make it a permanent move.

The search for cover for Harry Kane and in defence continues, whilst Christian Eriksen's future is still unresolved.

With 16 days of the window remaining, it's sure to be a busy final two weeks as clubs look to finalise their business.

Ze Luis transfer problem

 

Tottenham's reported move for Porto striker Ze Luis is in doubt as their are concerns whether he would be able to obtain a work permit.

The 28-year-old Cape Verde international is one of a number of strikers Spurs are considering following the injury to Harry Kane, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

Whilst Porto are open to allowing Ze Luis to leave on loan, there could be further complications over a work permit, with Cape Verde ranked 75t in the world.

Tottenham could still appeal to an external panel in the hopes of getting a deal signed off.

Piatek move off

Tottenham have cooled their interest in AC Milan striker Krzysztof   Piatek.

The Polish forward had been cited as a possible signing following Kane's hamstring tear.

However, Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs are now considering other alternatives to their striker dilemma this month.

Aston Villa and West Ham are also thought to be pursuing a move for Piatek.

Walker-Peters destination confirmed

Kyle Walker-Peters will conclude a season-long move to Crystal Palace in the coming days.

The Tottenham right-back is set to move to Selhurst Park for the remainder of the campaign after finding his first-team opportunities under Mourinho limited.

The Mirror  claim that a deal for the 22-year-old to move across London temporarily is almost in place.
