Latest Tottenham transfer news: Manchester United told to sign Harry Kane, Ryan Sessegnon eyed

Tottenham are gearing up for an extended campaign next season as they will enter the Europa League qualifying rounds, adding extra fixtures to their schedule.

With a short turnaround ahead of the new season, squad depth is vital and Jose Mourinho, having seen his side struggle last season, will want reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.

A host of players have already been linked with a move to join Mourinho's side ahead of the 2020-21 season across a number of positions.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest reports surrounding Spurs.

Untied told to sign Kane

Paul Scholes believes Manchester United should prioritise strengthening their striking department over signing Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is firmly established as United's prime target ahead of the 2020/21 season but negotiations with the Bundesliga side are proving to be difficult due to their hefty asking price.

While not signing Sancho would be a blow, Scholes believes United already have players in his position that could become just as good as the 20-year-old.

As a result, he believes that a better option in the transfer market would be Tottenham striker Harry Kane, as he feels a new centre-forward is required.

"I don't think it's a major priority (signing a right-sided forward). Don't get me wrong, he is a top-quality footballer. He would improve Liverpool, Man City and Barcelona," he told BT Sport.

"He is a goalscorer and would make lots of goals. But we have three wide-stroke-centre-forwards who are very similar to Sancho. They might not be as good as him but they could be.

"If that was Harry Kane we were talking about, I think we would be more desperate. We need a centre forward but Ole doesn't seem like he wants that type of player anymore."

Sessegnon eyed by Fulham

Fulham have emerged as front-runners to sign Tottenham youngster Ryan Sessegnon on loan this summer.

That is according to The Telegraph, who claim Sessegnon would be open to a return to Craven Cottage.

However, the report also adds that Tottenham are reluctant to allow Sessegnon to leave this summer but the 20 year-old is desperate to play regular football.

Clarke decision

Jose Mourinho could allow Jack Clarke to leave the club on loan this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, West Brom and Brentford are both interested in the former Leeds United star.

However, the report also claims that Mourinho is to run the rule over Clarke in pre-season before deciding if he will spend another year out on loan.
