Latest Tottenham transfer news: First summer signing, Kondogbia development, Celtic deliver blow

The Premier League season may be on hold but the Tottenham rumour mill continues to be plentiful.

Jose Mourinho made a big impact initially at Spurs after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino but recent results prove recruitment is needed.

It's no surprise that the gossip round-ups are still plentiful even despite the suspension of the season due to the coronavirus.

Here are the latest Tottenham rumours.

Tottenham's first summer deal

Daniel Levy has already decided on Tottenham's first summer transfer window deal, according to reports.

Football Insider say that Spurs are ready to finalise a deal to bring Willian to the club when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

The 31-year-old was in talks with Chelsea over a new deal but those discussions have stalled.

Tottenham interested in Kondogbia

Tottenham are still interested in signing Valencia's Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to Sky Sports.

Spurs' chief scout Steve Hitchen is said to be monitoring the development of the defensive midfielder.

Kondogbia is reportedly 'high' on Mourinho's transfer list ahead of the summer.

Update on Tottenham target

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has offered an update on the future of Tottenham target Kristoffer Ajer.

His agent, Tore Pedersen, gave an interview during which he said: "He does not extend with Celtic and disappears in the summer."

Lennon has since responded: "I’ve heard about the comments and I’m aware of it. At the end of the day the club will decide when players go, not agents or players themselves.

"Kris has never made any indication he wants to leave. He’s happy here, he has been playing very well, he has been very consistent.

"I think the agent has shot himself in the foot there. We have Kris tied down to a long-term contract so we’ll decide and not anyone else. There hasn’t been any interest in him that I’m aware of, certainly no one has called me about him."
