Latest Tottenham transfer news: every Spurs rumour rated from Gareth Bale to Paulo Dybala

Jose Mourinho has been busy settling into life as the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, and with the January transfer window only days away his workload is surely only going to rise.

The former Chelsea, Inter, Manchester United and Real Madrid manager was well known for his demanding nature in the transfer market at all four clubs.

Woe betide any chairman, director or owner who got in his way and told him he could not have what he wanted.

Tottenham: A look back at 2019

At Spurs he will have to contend with Daniel Levy, and while the pair are understood to get on famously, it will be a fascinating relationship to watch evolve over time as they work together on the players to sell and the players to sign.

Major business may be difficult to complete in January. The club cannot boast the spending power of their richest rivals and already spent plenty in the summer.

Tanguy Ndombele became a new club record signing when he joined Lyon. Giovani Lo Celso was brought in on loan from Real Betis with a view to make his move permanent in 2020.

Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon was also snapped up while Jack Clarke was signed from Leeds United only to be loaned back.

Paulo Dybala was seen as the missing piece in the jigsaw for the club's former head coach Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham failed to land the Juventus playmaker before the start of the Premier League season.

However, with Spurs having surged up the table to take on the challenge of a top four place once more, and through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, some recruitment could be on the cards to back Mourinho's efforts.
