Latest Tottenham transfer news: £5m Thomas Lemar loan, Harry Kane replacement identified

Tottenham Hotspur could be forced to dip into the January transfer market after Harry Kane's hamstring tear.

The England captain was forced off during their 1-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day and looks set for an extended period on the sidelines.

Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura operated up front against Middlesbrough but Jose Mourinho may look for a more recognised front man to fill in for Kane.

With the Januart transfer window open, the rumours mill is in full swing about potential incomings and outgoing.

Tottenham in Lemar swoop

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a loan approach for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar with a €60million option-to-buy.

The French winger has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this month, however, their nort London rivals are also keen on a deal.

According to  The Independent , a €6million loan fee is being touted to secure Lemar's services until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has only made 15 La Liga appearances this term and needs first-team football to ensure his place in France's EURO2020 squad.

Celtic make Edouard decision

Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea are all chasing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

The 21-year-old has been in terrific form this season, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists from 17 Scottish Premiership matches.

90min  claim that Celtic are not willing to sell their star striker in the January transfer window and any deal will have to wait until the summer.

Edouard is reported to be keen on a move to the Premier League though, which could interest the trio of clubs in the summer.

Spurs fancy Mitrovic deal

Tottenham want to sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to replace the injured Kane.

The Serbian striker signed a new 120k-a-week contract last summer and has scored 18 goals in 25 Championship appearances this season.

Spurs failed with a bid for the 25-year-old late in the summer transfer window, but  90min  understands that they have returned with a fresh enquiry.

Fulham, however, are keen to hold on to Mitrovic until at the least the end of the season, with Scott Parker's men in and amongst the promotion race.
