Latest Tottenham transfer news: £30m Bergwijn bid, Chelsea join Piatek battle, Emre Can bid

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to add a second January transfer before the end of the month.

Gedson Fernandes is Spurs' only recruit under Jose Mourinho with a week of the window left to go.

Mourinho is said to be keen on adding another forward though, following Harry Kane's hamstring injury that has ruled him out until mid-April.

The futures of Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama will all hope to be resolved too before Friday's deadline.

Here, we round-up the day's latest Tottenham transfer news.

Jose Mourinho explains Danny Rose absence amid transfer rumours

Spurs close in on Bergwijn

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn.

The 22-year-old was left out of the Eredivisie side's squad to face FC Twente after speculation cranked up surrounding his future.

It's now believed that Spurs lodged a bid believed to be in the region of £30million, reported by  The Mirror.

Bergwijn has scored six goals this season and is comfortable playing anywhere across the forward line, which is what Tottenham have been searching for.

Battle for Piatek

Chelsea have launched a €27million bid for Krzysztof Piatek with Tottenham also chasing a deal for the AC Milan striker.

The 24-year-old has struggled for form this season after an explosive start to life at AC Milan.

As a result, Piatek is keen to depart in order to gain more first-team minutes before EURO2020.

Sky Italia report claiming that Spurs are back in talks over a possible deal for Piatek, with Milan asking for more than the €27million that Chelsea have already bid.

Tottenham plot Can bid

Spurs are interesting in signing Juventus outcast Emre Can from Juventus.

Mourinho is keen to revamp his midfield with Christian Eriksen set to depart before the end of this month.

Italian outlet  TuttoJuve have reported that Spurs could offer £26m for the 26-year-old, once Eriksen joins Inter Milan.

Can is thought to be keen on a move as he bids to get more first-team minutes ahead of EURO2020.
