Latest Tottenham rumours: Behind the scenes of Joe Rodon deal, Spurs eye 'transfer guru'

Tottenham's transfer activity for the year is finally over.

The domestic window slammed shut last night, putting an end to Spurs' transfer business until January.

But not before Jose Mourinho completed yet another signing, snapping up promising defender Joe Rodon from Swansea City.

The signing completes a promising window for Spurs which saw Gareth Bale return on loan and Sergio Reguilon also join from Real Madrid among other transfer deals.

Though, the closing of the window won't bring to an end the endless trail of transfer rumours.

Take a look as we round up the latest rumours concerning Spurs below.

Spurs eye transfer 'guru'

Firstly, some transfer news not involving players - Tottenham are said to be attempting to lure transfer 'guru' Luis Campos to North London.

Campos has reportedly asked to be released from his contract at Lille, where he is director of football, with a number of European clubs hoping to acquire his services.

The Daily Record claim Tottenham are one of those clubs with Mourinho having worked with Campos during his time at Real Madrid.

It follows reports Mourinho was trying to lure Campos back in May.

Behind the scenes of the Rodon deal

Spurs snapped up Swansea City defender Rodon for a fee of around £11million on Friday night.

football.london understands that late on Thursday night, the two teams were still far apart in their valuations of the defender and a deal looked unlikely, despite the player wanting to make the move.

The following morning though a breakthrough was made and the player travelled to Hotspur Way to complete the formalities of his medical and personal terms as the clubs thrashed out the final stages of negotiations.

Bale and Ben Davies had both been pushing strongly behind the scenes for Spurs to sign their talented compatriot and they did so right as the transfer window drew to a close.
