Latest supercomputer prediction that will interest Nottingham Forest, Leeds and West Brom fans

Nottingham Forest have given themselves a great shot at making their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

The Reds, in their first season under Sabri Lamouchi, are fifth in the Championship table with 13 games remaining, and just four points off the automatic promotion places.

Their weekend draw with West Bromwich Albion may have seen them slip further behind Leeds United, but battling back twice against the league leaders did highlight their promotion credentials.

Football statistics and analysis website FiveThirtyEight has released its predictions for how the Championship table will look come the end of the season.

The table-topping Baggies are given a slightly lower 79% chance of returning to the top flight, yet are still predicted to pip Leeds to the title.

Brentford have the next best chance of being promoted according to the data, with the Bees having a 59% chance of going up to the Premier League for the first time.

Another London side comes next, with Scott Parker’s Fulham having a 24% chance of promotion, although their odds of making the play-offs are much higher at 61%.

Forest are next on the list with a 14% chance of promotion and a 55% chance of reaching the Championship play-offs.

Following them are the surprise package of the season so far, Alex Neil’s Preston. The Lilywhites have been given a 10% chance of promotion and a 40% chance of making the play-offs after an impressive season.
