LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:

* Labor leader Anthony Albanese and Greens leader Adam Bandt received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

* SA Premier Steven Marshall received the vaccine.

* Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt confirmed that another 166,000 doses of Pfizer have landed in Sydney and another 120,000 will arrive next week.

* Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews flagged an easing of restrictions later this week after the state recorded its fourth consecutive day without a new local case.

* Former WA chief health officer Tarun Weeramanthri submitted a report into the adequacy of the state's hotel quarantine system to the WA government, with findings to be made public shortly.

* Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk again called on the federal government to back her plan for a regional quarantine camp.

* Tasmania's frontline workers started receiving the vaccine. Infectious diseases nurse Jen Iver was the first to be given the jab on Tuesday morning at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* There were seven new virus cases recorded in Australia on Monday; four in NSW, two in SA and one in WA. All were diagnosed in hotel quarantine.

* The national death toll is 909: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).

GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 111,720,000

* Deaths: at least 2,474,000

* Recovered: at least 63,016,000.
