Latest SI mock draft gives Cardinals Kyler Murray 1st overall

Kyler Murray, Kyler Murray, Kyler Murray. Will the Arizona Cardinals take him first overall in the 2019 draft? Will they trade the pick? Are they seriously considering another QB after drafting Josh Rosen No. 10 overall last year?

According to the latest SI.com mock draft, yes, the Cardinals will take Murray, the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, with the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The league’s worst subterfuge campaign comes to an end. Angry Josh Rosen is free to Instagram himself with a new team and the Cardinals will start over in one of the most epic direction shifts in modern NFL history. Murray throws well, doesn’t seem to get rattled in tight spots (personally, I thought he was still making some heady directional throws late in that Alabama loss) and will almost certainly require a full-time spy on defense.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has been a fan of Murray since he tried to recruit him out of high school to Texas Tech. He doesn’t have concerns over his height and believes he will be great.

The question is whether he will be better than Josh Rosen.

But the Cardinals hired Kingsbury to fix the offense. It would make sense to give him the playmaking quarterback he wants.
