Latest result proves Mikel Arteta has installed key attribute into unified Arsenal squad

Arsenal’s victory over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon once again highlighted the impressive mentality change we are witnessing at the club.

Mikel Arteta’s side beat the Magpies on the back of a damaging 4-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Liverpool in the previous weekend.

It is not the first time that the Gunners have bounced back from a disappointing result, showing the squad togetherness and belief in the manager that they are able to avoid a bad run of form.

Bouncing back from a defeat has been a difficult task for Arsenal in recent years, but this season Arteta has seemed to eradicate this problem.

The Gunners currently find themselves level with West Ham in fourth place, which is a big boost in the club’s aims to get back into the Champions League for the first time in five seasons.

This club fighting for a top-four spot would not have been predicted at the start of the season, even after a few games in, it seemed a far fetch as Arsenal found themselves slumped to the bottom of the league after the three opening matches.

However, after the September international break, there seemed to be a mentality shift within the players and the manager, propelling the club into magnificent form.

Arteta’s side would go on a 10-match unbeaten run and keep seven clean sheets in the process, this allowed the side to gradually climb up the league table.

But, in this unbeaten run, there had been some disappointing performances such as the draw to Brighton and Crystal Palace. Despite this, these would quickly be forgotten about as the team would step up their performance levels in the next match, and get the victory.

This was highlighted again in the most recent Premier League victory against Newcastle, which came a week after the heavy 4-0 defeat against Liverpool.

Players who struggled at Anfield, such as Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Bukayo Saka, were the main contenders for the Man of the Match award in the game against Newcastle. This again highlights the strong mentality amongst the squad which is promising to see.

Arteta has a group of players that are believing in what he is trying to achieve and this will allow Arsenal to continue fighting for the Champions League places.
