Davide Ancelotti is now the clear frontrunner to take over as Rangers manager in the latest bookies odds.
The Italian, son of storied Brazil-bound boss Carlo, emerged yesterday as a strong contender for the vacant Ibrox position with reports in Spain even suggesting it was further down the line than that.
However, sources close to the club moved to play that down, with a decision on the new manager to be taken over the next four weeks. Ancelotti is thought to be very much in the mix, though, and that timescale ties in with the fact the 35-year-old could head to Brazil to help his dad with his first two games in charge of the national team.
Bookmakers seem to think it is an extreme possibility and now have the Real Madrid assistant as odds-on favourite to take over at Rangers in the summer.

His odds have tumbled dramatically to 3/10 on, well shorter than second favourite Steven Gerrard at 9/1.
Russell Martin was yesterday quoted on his plans to get back into management and he is next on the list at 11/1.
Ex RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose and Sheffield Wednesday's Danny Rohl were two foreign bosses heavily quoted and they come in at 14/1 and 20/1 respectively.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Davide Ancelotti is the clear 3/10 favourite to be the next Rangers manager amid reported recent talks with Ibrox chiefs. Steven Gerrard follows Ancelotti at 9/1, with Russell Martin 11/1 to return to his former club.
“Elsewhere, former favourite Marco Rose is 14/1 to get the job, with Danny Rohl now a 20/1 outsider to move to Glasgow.”
