Figures published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland today show there are 312 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals — down five from yesterday
There are 34 people battling the virus in ICUs across the nation — up one over the same period.
The new fatalities mean Scotland's Covid death toll now stands at 8,067.
However, 10,464 deaths have been registered in Scotland where the virus was mentioned on the death certificate up to August 15.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Dumfries and Galloway has the highest rate in the country — at 447.1 as of Thursday, August 19.
West Dunbartonshire has the second-highest infection rate at 381.5. while East Renfrewshire is third with 331.
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, North Ayrshire has the highest rate of 310.6 while East Ayrshire's rate is 240.1 and South Ayrshire's is 208.7.
A total of 181 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Ayrshire in the last 24 hours. Broken down, 81 were in North Ayrshire, 57 in South Ayrshire and 43 in East Ayrshire.

There are 18 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals – up two from yesterday – while fewer than five people are battling the disease in intensive care in the region.
A total of 4,071,537 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,526,754 have received a second dose.
