Small increase in number of coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire

Latest Public Health England data shows just one new case of coronavirus confirmed in Nottinghamshire in the last 24 hours.

The total number of people who have tested positive in Nottingham increased to 629 as of 4pm on Tuesday (June 30).

For Nottinghamshire the figure remains at 1,490.

Across the UK there have been 312,654 lab-confirmed cases - while there have been 43,730 coronavirus deaths.

An additional 155 coronavirus deaths were recorded on Tuesday afternoon.

The figures come after the Health Secretary Matt Hancock said a coronavirus spike in Leicester will mean all non-essential shops and schools will close.

He also said pubs, bars, restaurants, and hairdressers will not be able to open from July 4 in Leicester and some of the surrounding areas.
