Latest Premier League transfer rumours: Thiago to Liverpool twist, Everton confident of landing Gabriel

The Premier League transfer window is officially open and a summer of toing and froing at the virtual negotiation table is now underway.

The top-flight season came to an end last month, and just a day later clubs up and down the league were given the go-ahead to begin their summer business.

Of course, the rumour mill turns freely throughout the season but the opening of the transfer window usually signals the start of an avalanche of transfer rumours.

This summer’s first day has been no different and below we run you through all the big headlines.

Thiago 'would prefer PSG move over Liverpool'

Thiago Alcantara would prefer a move to PSG over Liverpool, it has been claimed.

According to reports in Germany with Abendzeitung München, the Bayern Munich midfielder would like to move to Paris in order to play alongside the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The Reds continue to be linked with a move with the 29-year-old, with Bayern thought to be willing accept an offer of £25m for his services.

Gueye linked to United

Le10 Sport claim that Manchester United are keen to bring Idrissa Gueye back to England after just one season at PSG.

The former Everton and Aston Villa holding midfielder moved to the Paris capital for £30m last summer and played 33 times this season.

Yet PSG are said to be open to selling the Senegal international for the right price.

Everton 'confident' of landing Gabriel

Everton are reportedly confident of signing Gabriel Magalhaes, and are looking to fend off interest from elsewhere in the form of Manchester United.

According to ESPN, Carlo Ancelotti has made defensive reinforcements a priority this summer, and has made the Lille centre-back a top target.

The report goes on to state that Lille would be willing to sell Gabriel should they receive an offer in excess of £25m.
