Latest Premier League rumours: Man United rival Liverpool for Thiago, PSG bid for Arsenal star

The start of the new Premier League season is just over a week away and the transfer market is starting to heat up.

Whilst Leeds United have done a lot of business relatively early, some other clubs are leaving it a little later to build their squad, with the window open to October.

With that in mind, here are the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

Premier League new season in numbers

United join Thiago race

German outlet Bild claim that Manchester United have made contact with Thiago Alcantara’s representatives.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer but the Anfield side are yet to firm up any interest they have in the player.

Bayern’s asking price of £27m for a player with one year left on his contract has alerted other Premier League clubs to his availability.

Arsenal were last week linked with a move for the former Barcelona star, whilst United are now said to have made contact over a potential deal.

A bid is yet to be made, however.

PSG make Bellerin offer

The Guardian report that Paris Saint-Germain have submitted a £25m bid for Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

A number of European clubs are thought to be interested in the right-back, with Juventus and Bayern Munich also linked.

Yet PSG have become the first club to bid for the 25-year-old, who has three years left on his contract at the Emirates.

The offer is an initial £25m with a potential £5m in add-ons.

Wilson latest

Chronicle Live report that Callum Wilson’s camp do not expect the striker to be at Bournemouth for much longer.

Newcastle United have stepped up their chase for the striker due to Dwight Gayle’s knee injury, with manager Steve Bruce said to be a big fan of Wilson.

Yet there is plenty of competition for the 28-year-old.

Aston Villa, West Ham and Spurs have all shown an interest in Wilson alongside Newcastle.
