Latest Premier League rumours: Ighalo wants Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal battle for Coutinho

Ighalo keen to stay at United

On-loan striker Odion Ighalo has requested his parent club allow him to remain at Manchester United for the rest of the Premier League season.

The Nigerian hitman joined United at the end of the January transfer window and is currently due to return to Shanghai Shenhua at the end of May ahead of the CSL season beginning in the summer.

However, with the campaign put on hold, MEN Sport report both United and the player would like to extend any agreement to accommodate their remaining nine league fixtures - plus Europe and cup commitments - whenever they take place.

The most expensive Premier League transfers ever

Ighalo, 30, has scored four times in eight appearances since making the temporary switch to Old Trafford.

Blues eye Dortmund stopper as Kepa replacement

Frank Lampard is reportedly in the market for a new keeper and reports today link him with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Roman Burki.

According to the Sun , the Blues are eying a new number one to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, after the Spaniard’s indifferent form this season has seen him fall out of favour.

A series of mistakes saw Lampard drop the £70 million stopper, but restored him to the starting line up before football was suspended.

Roman Burki has been linked with a move to Chelsea (2020 Borussia Dortmund)

However, it appears the manager has lost patience with the former Athletic Bilbao man, and pinpointed Burki as the man to take over in goal for Chelsea.

The report claims that Swiss international Burki who joined the Bundesliga side in 2015, could come at a cut price of just £15 million due to having just a year remaining on his contract.

Reds make Werner decision

Liverpool looked to have pulled the plug on any potential bid of Timo Werner and will not be following up their interest in the player.

The RB Leipzig striker has long been linked with a move to Anfield however T he Mirror claims Jurgen Klopp’s side are unwilling to pay the £50 million it would cost to bring him to England.

With uncertainty over the football economy for the foreseeable future, the Premier League table-toppers are not currently prepared to commit to such a costly purchase.

The German striker has found the target 30 times this season, attracting the attention of Europe’s top clubs.

Premier League scramble for Coutinho

The future of Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho remains unclear but rumours of his Premier League return refuse to go away with a number of clubs linked with the player.

Chelsea have reportedly been the front runners for his signature, however London rivals Arsenal are also said to be keen.

Pending their takeover being completed, Newcastle could make the Brazilian their first big name purchase, while Leicester have also been mentioned due to potential Champions League qualification and the fact Coutinho previously worked with manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

The 27-year-old failed to impress at the Nou Camp following his £142 million move from Anfield in 2018 and has spent this season on loan at Bayern Munich, but the German side have opted not exercise the option to purchase the player permanently.
